Matanzas On The Bay to host Bluegrass, Brew & BBQ on May 24 to benefit Operation Open Arms

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. (April 1, 2014) – Matanzas On The Bay is hosting the first annual Bluegrass, Brew & BBQ to benefit Operation Open Arms, a non-profit dedicated to the care and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in military personnel and veterans, on Saturday, May 24 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Located at 416 Crescent St. in Fort Myers Beach, Matanzas On The Bay invites the public to attend the fundraiser that will include live music by the Cooter Creek Bluegrass Band and the Bugtussle Ramblers; a variety of craft beers; and an appetizing BBQ buffet of smoked pork shanks, BBQ quartered chicken, Dave’s famous potato salad, baked beans, and a special featured mac n’ cheese.

Bluegrass, Brew & BBQ will also feature kid-friendly activities including a kids’ fishing tournament off the docks at Matanzas On The Bay overlooking the Estero Bay from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. While the event is free to the public, Matanzas on the Bay will be collecting donations in support of Operation Open Arms, as well as providing 5 percent of all guest bills towards the fundraising efforts.
