After Hurricane Ian the Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt had a video series called ‘Key Questions With Key Staffers’ to help with the rebuilding process of Fort Myers Beach. Here is an archive of that series.
This first session focuses on the Town’s building services and FEMA’s 50% rule, among a few other topics. It features three of the professional staff from our Community Development Department:

Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt talks with Florida state consultant Larry Peterson about Larry’s work to help the Town and the FMB Fire District recover from the impacts of Hurricane Ian. Larry has been a welcome can-do, boots on the ground support, and he arrived just a few days after the storm hit. He retired several years ago after a long career as the Chief of the Jacksonville Fire Department.
