The Lee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) recently appointed Brian Kramer to the Lee County Tourist Development Council (TDC).

Kramer will serve a four-year term as a voting member of the TDC.

For the past 11 years, Kramer has served as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, which was recently named one of Travel + Leisure’s Best Hotels of the Year.

Kramer began his hospitality career 37 years ago at the Grand Hyatt New York and has since successfully managed nine Hyatt properties across the East Coast, from Boston to Florida.

Throughout his career, Kramer has earned some of the industry’s highest honors, including General Manager of the Year from both Hyatt Hotels and Resorts and the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

“Brian’s depth of experience in the hospitality industry, coupled with his long-standing commitment to our destination, makes him a valuable addition to the TDC,” said Kevin Ruane, Lee County commissioner and chair of the TDC. “We’re fortunate to have his insight and leadership as we continue to support and grow tourism in Lee County.”

The nine voting seats of the TDC are composed of three elected officials, three representatives from accommodations collecting the tourist tax and three representatives from tourism-related industries, as directed by Florida Statutes.

In 2022, the BoCC voted to add the four seats to allow each of the municipalities a seat on the TDC. These four additional members represent the incorporated municipalities not currently serving on the TDC in one of the two municipal rotating seats.

The TDC was established as an advisory board to the BoCC in 1983 to increase off-season tourism in Lee County.
