HM Restaurant Group has hired Steve Wigfield as the full-time manager for The Marina at Bonita Fish Company, a new 30-slip deep-water facility with direct Gulf access on Fort Myers Beach. As marina manager, Wigfield will oversee full- and part-time rental reservations and marina operations.
“Steve comes to us with eight years of marina management experience in Southwest Florida and understands the nuances of the business,” said Joe Harrity, a partner with HM Restaurant Group which manages Bonita Fish Company. “He is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.”
Wigfield has worked at Sanibel Marina, Salty Sam’s Marina and most recently Moss Marina, serving in every capacity of operations. He counts boating and fishing among his hobbies.
“I have been on the water my entire life,” said Wigfield. “My favorite thing about working in the marina industry is the customer interaction and satisfaction. The Marina at Bonita Fish Company is setting the bar high and will exceed customer expectations.”
The Marina at Bonita Fish Company elevates the vibrant waterfront experience on Fort Myers Beach and will offer slips for day boaters visiting HM Restaurant Group’s three restaurants along Fisherman’s Wharf, including Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and Dixie Fish Company. Takeout and dockside food delivery is also available.
The Marina accommodates vessels up to 100 feet and offers full water hookups. It will introduce power this summer. Reservations are available now at bonitafishco.com/marina and on the Dockwa app.
HM Restaurant Group is transforming Fisherman’s Wharf into a destination where locals and visitors enjoy fresh seafood, live music, relaxed waterfront dining and sunsets along Matanzas Pass. Bonita Fish Company, which opened last fall, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and features fresh Gulf seafood, casual bites and cold drinks. It offers music daily and a large central bar. Located in a century-old former fish-packing house, the restaurant serves brunch Friday through Sunday and offers Bayside Private Events at Bonita Fish Company, an indoor-outdoor waterfront event venue.
HM Restaurant Group is known for its philanthropy, supporting local nonprofit organizations dedicated to the environment, conservation, education and community outreach. Founded in 2012, the “Ding” Darling Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament has raised over $1.57 million for conservation and water-quality research at Sanibel’s J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. The 14th annual competition is May 15, 2026.
The company’s restaurants have raised $140,309 for Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg through the sale of specialty cocktails. They also raise money from drink sales for Captains For Clean Water’s mission of improving the health of the Florida Everglades and Florida Bay.
