{preheader} FDEM SEEKS INPUT TO BUILD CYBERSECURITY STAKEHOLDER RESOURCE-SHARING NETWORK The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) has asked Lee County to share a Florida Digital Cybersecurity Survey. This survey form is being sent out on behalf of the Florida Digital Service and is intended to collect Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Information Officer, and other cybersecurity stakeholders’ contact information throughout the state. This applies to both public and private sectors. Its purpose is to help facilitate information and resource sharing. This week, selected members of both chambers (conferees) began hammering out the differences in their respective budgets. The output of this process will be one combined state budget that will head to Governor Ron DeSantis’s desk. At the time of this email, the House has taken up SB 2508 and deleted the entire bill after the beginning clause. {preheader} AFTER NEARLY THREE YEARS, ARMY CORPS FINALIZES THEIR MODELING FOR THE NEW LAKE O OPERATIONS MANUAL Yesterday, the Army Corps of Engineers announced the ‘optimized lake schedule model run’ for the future Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual (LOSOM). It was a huge decision in the LOSOM process because the selected model run will serve as the framework for the final operational plan. Bottom line, it looks significantly better than the current operational plan, which has plagued our coastal estuaries with harmful discharges and starved the Everglades for the past dozen years. Although this doesn't mark the end of the process, with this selection, the course is mostly set for how the plan will be written and what it will mean for the distribution of water in south Florida.
