Summer Nights at Edison Ford
Friday, September 18
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Visitors will be treated to music on the Ford lawn and have a chance to see a spectacular sunset over the Caloosahatchee River. Guests will also be able to walk onto the porches of the winter homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford and stroll through the botanical gardens.

Discounted admission for the nighttime openings will be $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Artichoke and Company will be on site with a cash bar, and Coastal Dayz Brewery will have beer available for purchase. Guests may bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax and watch the sunset. Tickets will only be available online at EdisonFord.org. The museum and research laboratory will not be open. Garden Talk on House Plants
September 26, 10 a.m.

Debbie Hughes, Horticulture Director, will talk about how to select, care for and the many benefits of growing houseplants. Plants will be available for purchase and Garden Talk participants will receive a coupon for 20% off plant purchases for use in the Garden Shoppe. Registration is required in order to monitor and limit the number of people attending the talk, which will be capped at 25 participants. Masks are also required, and guests should wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a hat, and bring drinking water. Tickets for the talk are $10 for Edison Ford members, or $15 for non-members (does not include tours) and can be purchased at EdisonFord.org.

Guests will have the opportunity to visit after regular hours and stroll the grounds, listen to music, watch the sunset, and enjoy some beverages. Visitors may also walk onto the porches of Thomas Edison’s and Henry Ford’s winter homes and stroll the grounds at their own pace, while practicing social distancing.

Discounted admission tickets for the nighttime openings are $20 for non-members and $15 for members. The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen and Coastal Dayz Brewery will have refreshments available for purchase. Teddy Richards will perform on October 2 and island-themed music will be played on October 16. Guests may bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax and watch the sunset. The museum and research laboratory will not be open. Tickets can be purchased online at EdisonFord.org or at the Ticket Office. Mask are required when within 6’ of someone in your party.

Orchid Symposium

October 10 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Edison and Ford Winter Estates

The sale will take place outdoors, in the Garden Shoppe and surrounding areas. Horticulturists will staff a “Garden Guidance” table and answer guests’ gardening questions. Admission to the plant sale is free ( does not include tours or admission to the museum, lab or riverside of the property).

Additional vendors will be on site until 2 p.m., including Jim and I Orchids, OFE Orchid Supplies, Red Hawk Orchids, So Orchids, Sunland Orchids and Tropiflora. Vendors will be available to answer questions about the different orchid species at their booths. Hard-to-find varieties and Florida natives will be offered. Red Roc Cravings food truck and coastal Dayz Brewing will have refreshments available for purchase. A limited number of carts are available, so guests are encouraged to bring their own. Masks are required.

Annual Quilt Show

October 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Edison and Ford Winter Estates

Dozens of quilts from the Quilters’ Guild will be on display, suspended from clotheslines between trees and select antique quilts from the 1880s to 1940s will be on display inside the Thomas Edison House, Henry Ford house and the Edison Guest house. Quilters’ Guild participants will also have quilts available for sale.

The quilt show is included with self-guided or guided tour of the historic home site and botanical gardens. Tickets may be purchased online at edisonford.org or at the ticket counter. Admission is free for Edison Ford members.
