I Shine Permanent Jewelry Opens First Permanent Retail Location at Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach

I Shine Permanent Jewelry will open its first permanent retail location on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach, 251 Crescent St. Located on the Sunset Terrace, the new location will be open to the public seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; no hotel stay is required.

The opening coincides with Margaritaville’s Jimmy Buffett Day and Labor Day weekend celebration, creating an added opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy a custom beach keepsake while celebrating on Fort Myers Beach. Founded in November 2023 by Emmy Akin, I Shine began as a mobile business serving markets, pop-ups and events throughout Southwest Florida. The business has collaborated with organizations and events including the Boston Red Sox during Spring Training, Lee Health and Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina, and it sponsors the Bayside Veterans Park Concert Series on Fort Myers Beach.

Akin, a Venezuelan-born Latina entrepreneur, moved with her husband Mitch and their family from Nashville to Southwest Florida in 2019. She built I Shine one pop-up at a time, initially operating from a 10-by-10 vendor tent at the Cape Coral Farmers Market and at events across Naples and Fort Myers Beach.

“Coming to this country gave me the confidence to build something of my own,” Akin said. “I started I Shine with a tent, a vision and a willingness to show up wherever the community gathered. Opening at Margaritaville represents how far our family, our customers and this little business have come together.”

I Shine offers more than 170 chain options in 14K gold-filled, 14K and 18K solid gold, rose gold, .925 sterling silver and stainless steel. Customers may select custom-fit bracelets, anklets, necklaces, rings, hand chains and other pieces, with optional charms and connectors. Prices begin at $55.

Unlike traditional clasp jewelry, each piece is measured to the wearer and welded closed for a seamless finish. The service typically takes just a few minutes, while customers receive personal guidance on chain selection, fit and styling details. The result is a piece designed around a meaningful moment – from a vacation, friendship or girls’ trip to an anniversary, birthday or family memory.
