Fort Myers Beach Pier Replacement Project Update
August 28, 2026 • Services
Construction activity is progressing with major equipment now mobilized on site, including a large crane. Crews are continuing preparations for demolition of the remaining pier structure, which is anticipated to begin next week.
Residents, businesses and visitors in the area should expect to hear construction-related noise once demolition begins, particularly during the removal of the old piles. These activities are a necessary step in clearing the site and preparing for construction of the new pier.
Additionally, temporary construction activities are scheduled along the sidewalk on Estero Boulevard, just north of Times Square, on Thursday, Aug. 27, and Friday, Aug. 28. Pedestrians traveling through the area may experience temporary detours and should follow posted signage directing them safely around the work area.
We appreciate the community’s cooperation in helping crews maintain a safe construction area while the rebuilding of this iconic landmark continues.
