The Young Widows and Widowers Support Group is designed especially for people age 55 and younger coping with the loss of their spouse or partner. This group will meet the first and third Mondays of each month, starting Oct. 5 through Feb. 15, 2021, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In advance of the meeting, contact [email protected] or call 239-656-3241.
The Caregiver Support Group welcomes those who are caring for a loved one who is seriously ill or elderly. The group will meet the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning October 7. Contact [email protected] or call 239-415-7219.
The Loss of Parent group addresses one of the most universal experiences of bereavement: the loss of a mother, father or grandparent. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. starting October 13. Contact [email protected] or call 239-333-4245.
The Perinatal Loss Group is open to women who have experienced miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or failed attempts with reproductive technology. The Secrets to Surviving the Season Group is for those who are grieving, and for whom holidays can be especially difficult. Hope Healthcare is offering a new three-part specialized support group in honor of National Hospice Month for adults to discuss feelings and learn from the experiences of others in a supportive environment. The group will meet Wednesday Nov. 11 and 18 and Dec. 2 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Contact [email protected] or call 239-985-7716.
The Brave Hearts for the Holidays group is a special bereavement opportunity designed for children ages 7 to 12 who have lost a loved one in the past year. the free, five-part virtual series will provide kids with a safe space to share with their peers, learn to cope with feelings of grief, and discover healthy ways to express their emotions. Groups divided by age will be held Tuesdays, Nov. 17, Dec. 1 and 15, and Jan. 5 and 19 from 4 to 5 p.m. Children should plan on attending all five dates. Registration is required by Monday, Nov. 2.
