Taste of the Beach Wrap-Up

The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce’s 26th Annual Taste of the Beach sponsored by Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. took place on Sunday May 1, 2022. The popular food festival held on Fort Myers Beach included restaurants, gift and promotional vendors, a beer garden, the famous server competition, live music and more.  Live music from the main stage included Sounds of Steel (steel drum band), the event ran from 11a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Local restaurants and food trucks served samples of their best signature dishes for purchase and competed for the coveted Taste of the Beach awards. The first place winner for the People’s Choice was Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, who also won for the Best Decorated Booth. Sunset Beach Tropical Grill’s Crab Cakes won Best Appetizer and their Surf and Turf Filet won the category for Best Meat Dish. The Rude Shrimp Company won for Best Chicken Dish with their Garlic Shcichimi Chicken and their Shrimp Tacos took the Best Seafood Dish category.  Pirate’s Stove’s Corn on a Stick won Best Vegetarian Dish and the Yucatan Beach Stand’s Key Lime Pie came in first place for Best Dessert. Along with tasty treats from the competing restaurants and food trucks, the always spirited Server Competition, sponsored by Your CBD Store pitted server teams from local Fort Myers Beach restaurants against each other, vying for the coveted Best Server Team award.  This year’s winner was Parrot Key Caribbean Grill with Shrimp Dock and Doc Ford’s taking second and third place!
