The Original Shrimp Dock is Open for the 2018-2019 SeasonNovember 28, 2018 • Dine
Located in a historic shrimp packing facility at the end of Main Street near Fort Myers Beach famously known as Shrimpers’ Row, The Original Shrimp Dock Bar & Grill is now open for the 2018-2019 season. Featuring a Florida style seafood menu with delicious signature shrimp dishes, the property offers a casual atmosphere with stunning views overlooking Salty Sam’s Marina and the Back Bay from the most expansive waterfront decks in all of Southwest Florida. Guests can enjoy waterfront dining at its best with “Boat to Plate” seafood favorites, tropical cocktails, and Florida craft beers in a historic shrimping shanty.
“We wanted to pay homage to the rich history of the Fort Myers shrimping fleet,” says owner Matt Hanson. “This property was originally a shrimp dock and packaging facility and with the availability of the best shrimp in the world right here on the island, we thought it was a perfect fit.”
The rustic charm of the building has been updated with fun, tropical colors and vintage Florida decor. Patrons are greeted at the hostess stand which doubles as the counter for a seafood market selling fresh shrimp, lobster tails, scallops and signature house-made sauces. Diners will find an expansive shrimp offering on the menu as well as land based favorites like Filet Mignon, chargrilled burgers and a selection of homemade pizza.
