FMB Chamber’s Starlight Social set for Friday, Feb. 7January 31, 2020 • Play
The public is invited to join the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce at its Annual Meeting & Starlight Social on Friday, Feb. 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Mound House, 451 Connecticut Street, Fort Myers Beach.
Tickets are $60 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, pizza oven al fresco, two drink tickets, entrance to the Mound House Museum and grounds, an awards ceremony, installation of new Board members and recognition of Board and Ambassadors, live music, and much more.
Each year, the Chamber recognizes various organizations for their continued support and dedication to the community. This year, five special awards will be presented to area businesses for their outstanding contributions.
The Chamber’s “Environmental Award,” will be presented to Keep Lee County Beautiful for its support of our community through its clean-up and educational activities. The “Special Recognition Award,” will posthumously honor Dr. Leroy Hommerding for his extraordinary leadership which left a legacy in the FMB Library that will be carried forward for future generations of islanders. The “Commitment to Community Award,” will also posthumously honor Larry Kiker for his integral service to — and love of — our island. The Chamber has chosen the Friends of the Mound House to receive its “Friends of the Beach Award,” for its vision and championing of the Mound House. Captains for Clean Water will receive the “Outstanding Service Award,” for its continued advocacy for clean water and healthy estuaries across our state. And last but not least, the Chamber’s “Civic Award” will be presented to the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club, for re-energizing and expanding the vision and mission of the Woman’s Club, which will have a lasting impact on our community.
